WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW?

Below you will find the most
frequently asked questions about our
products and Ecover.

  • Does your non-chlorine bleach help prevent COVID-19?

No. Our non-chlorine bleach does not disinfect surfaces or laundry. If you’re looking for a product to help prevent COVID-19, please refer to the EPA’s list of registered disinfectants to use against SARS-Cov-2 here.

For more information on COVID-19 disease, please visit the World Health Organization webpage at: www.who.int or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at: http://www.cdc.gov/

  • Where can I buy your products?

You’ll find Ecover products in select Whole Foods Markets and local health food stores. To find a retailer near you, go to our store locator and type in your zip code. You can also order online through retailers like Jet.com and Amazon.com.

  • Help! I can't find my favorite Ecover product.

We’re sorry you can’t find what you’re looking for, but we’re happy to help. Please contact us so we can track it down for you or suggest other options if it’s no longer a part of our product lineup.

  • I'm interested in buying Ecover products wholesale.

That’s great. For more information, please contact us with your company name, volume, location, website and contact information. Our sales team will be in touch.

  • Are Ecover’s products biodegradable?

Yes. We always think about what happens to cleaners once they’re washed down the drain, so our products are developed to biodegrade completely – and as quickly as possible. We start at the beginning with the right ingredients, selecting those that meet our criteria for fast and complete biodegradability. This means Ecover products are suitable for greywater use on vegetation and for septic tanks, too.

  • Does Ecover test on animals?

We don’t believe in animal testing—that’s why all of our cleaners are certified by Leaping Bunny and Cruelty Free International. As part of our qualification, we’re regularly audited to ensure both Ecover and our suppliers comply with the comprehensive criteria of the Humane Cosmetics Standard.

  • Do you make any unscented products?

We sure do. You’ll want to look for our Zero products, which do not contain any added fragrance. To see a complete list of fragrance-free options, click here.

  • What percentage of hydrogen peroxide is used in your laundry bleach?

Our non-chlorine bleach contains 7% hydrogen peroxide.

  • Are Ecover products gluten-free?

Yes. All Ecover products sold in North America are gluten-free.

  • Are Ecover products safe for people with nut allergies?

Yes. Ecover’s products do not contain any nut proteins, which are typically what cause allergic reactions. Please check with your doctor if you have any concerns about what’s safe for you.

  • Where can I find safety data sheets (SDS) for Ecover?

We’re happy to supply SDS sheets upon request. Just contact us and let us know which ones you need.

  • Why is each dishwasher tablet individually wrapped?

Dishwasher tablets are fragile things that don’t react well to water in the air; in fact, it causes them to crumble. We want you to open your box to find tablets, not powder, so we wrap each tablet to keep it safe. Our dishwasher tablet wrappers are made from polypropylene (PP) #5, a simple, stable, non-toxic, recyclable plastic.

  • Is it important to use Ecover Dishwasher Tablets and Ecover Rinse Aid together? Why?

Yes. Our dishwasher tabs take care of the cleaning, and the rinse aid prevents water drops from forming and leaving behind spots and streaks on your dishes.

  • Is Ecover laundry detergent for high efficiency (HE) washing machines?

Yes. Our laundry detergent is formulated to be effective in both standard and HE machines. You can use the recommended dose on the label for either machine type.

  • Do your products expire?

The simple answer is that our products have an expected shelf life of about 2.5 years. After that, you may begin to see changes in the way they look, smell or work.

That said, an older product may work perfectly fine if it has not been exposed to factors that age products faster, such as light or heat. The best thing to do is give it a try in an inconspicuous area first. If it seems to have lost its cleaning abilities, just empty the bottle and recycle it.

  • Are your bottles recyclable?

Yes, all of our bottles are recyclable. Most of them are made from a blend of Plantplastic® (our proprietary plant-sourced plastic made from sugarcane) and post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR).
